Geotubes for Erosion Control
BJ Geotextile® geotube is an engineered geotextile tube for dewatering high moisture sludge, tailings, or dredging spoils. Made from high capability and high modulus Polyester these Geo-tubes are favorable for their simplicity and cost-effectiveness.
Our Geo Tube solutions are used in many govt. as well as private projects around the world. We prioritize considering global standards and clients’ various demands. Depending on different volumes and space requirements our Geo-tubes are also of different sizes.

How Geotextile containers work
Stage 1: Geotextile Tube Filling
High strength permeable geotextiles with uniquely designed retention properties are fabricated into Geotextile containers that can be filled with fine grain sludge, hazardous contaminated soils, or dredged waste materials.
Stage 2: Geotextile Tube Dewatering
The tube container extracts the additional water through its little pores. This process consists of multiple cycles of slurry filling and drawdown. The goal is to achieve an efficient volume reduction and solids concentration. This volume reduction facilitates repeated filling of the containers.
Stage 3: Geotextile Tube Consolidation
After the final cycle of filling and dewatering, the retained fine grain materials can continue to consolidate by desiccation because the residual water vapor escapes through the geotextile.

Have a Smaller Project?
If you have a smaller dewatering project we cover that as well. In addition to the large sludge tubes, we also offer several small Dewatering Silt Bags to help filter out sediment and materials. These bags typically include sizes between 6′ x 6′ and 15′ x 20′.
In order to determine the right option for your location, consider several factors:
- Type of solids you are filtering
- How many geotextile dewatering tubes are required for the amount of solids you are dewatering
- Areas available for placement of the dewatering tubes
- Clear understanding of where the filtered water will flow
